Michael Laudrup Set to be Confirmed as Swansea City Manager


Swansea set to confirm Denmark legend Michael Laudrup as managerThe former Denmark legend Michael Laudrup is expected to be appointed Swansea manager by Friday.Michael Laudrup is close to being appointed manager of Swansea City following further talks with the club chairman, Huw Jenkins.The Denmark legend was on a shortlist with Ian Holloway, the Blackpool manager, to succeed Brendan Rodgers at the Liberty Stadium and is favourite to be in the role by the end of the week. The 47-year-old former Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid player is a free agent having resigned from Real Mallorca in September over the dismissal of his assistant, Erik Larsen, who could join him in south Wales.Michael Laudrup is now the big favourite to take over from Brendan Rodgers at the Liberty Stadium, pulling ahead of other prospective candidates which reportedly include Graeme Jones, Ian Holloway and Gus Poyet. The 47 year old former Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid midfielder quit as Mallorca manager back in September last term and is seemingly ready to make a managerial return.
The former Danish international started his managerial career at Brondby before enjoying moderate success in Spain with Getafe before a disastrous spell in charge at Spartak Moscow before moving to Mallorca.
By all accounts the former stylish midfielder will be confirmed as the Swans boss in the next 48 hours.
