‘Half Time Shirt Swap Is Brazilian Culture’, Says Santos’ Wife

Arsenal fullback Andre Santos’ wife has taken to Twitter to defend the Brazilian international after he asked for Robin van Persie’s shirt as a souvenir at half-time during Manchester United’s 2-1 win on Saturday.
The 29-year-old, who has been criticised for several inept defensive displays this season, was lambasted on social networking sites by Arsenal fans following his bizarre decision to ask for van Persie’s shirt during Saturday’s crucial league game.
Santos ran up to former Gunners’ striker van Persie and after an exchange of words, the Dutchman took off his jersey and handed it to the 29-year-old which according to his wife, is a regular occurence in Brazilian football.

The english should understand better the Brazilian culture before judging someone…no one stops being friends just for changing company…

Arsene Wenger’s side will be without first choice left-back Kieran Gibbs when they play German giants Schalke tomorrow evening. The Englishman won’t be risked despite training with the squad yesterday morning.
Aaron Ramsey is another player who hasn’t travelled with Wenger’s 18-man squad after suffering a groin injury, while goalkeeper James Shea replaces Damien Martinez who is ineligible for Champions League games.
