Terry Suffers Horror Injury

Game over: John Terry's return was cut short

John Terry saw his Chelsea comeback end on a stretcher after suffering a nasty-looking knee injury against Liverpool.
Terry was enjoying a dream return to action after his four-match ban for racial abuse when he headed the European champions into the lead from a corner after 20 minutes at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.
But 15 minutes later, having given the ball away, he made a recovery tackle on Luis Suarez only to see the Liverpool striker land awkwardly on top of his right leg.
That left Terry in agony and he immediately signaled to the bench.
After around five minutes of treatment on his right knee, the defender was carried off.
Hobbling: Terry (left) had his leg in a brace as he left the Chelsea ground

The 31-year-old had his head in his hands and was consoled by manager Roberto Di Matteo before disappearing down the tunnel.
Di Matteo said: “He has a problem with his knee and will have an MRI scan tomorrow.
“At the moment we can’t say, we’ll have to wait for the scan which will tell us the extent of the injury. He is certainly a player that is influential for us. We will miss him.”
