Linda Hogan “regrets” her DUI arrest in Malibu Thursday and vows it had nothing to do with her ex hubby’s new sex tape.
The reality TV star, 53, was pulled over for speeding around 1:30 a.m. and registered a blood alcohol of 0.084, barely a bleached blond hair over the legal limit, her lawyer told the Daily News.
The lawyer said she’d been hospitalized two days prior for an e coli infection and was on antibiotics, which exacerbated the effects of the champagne she drank at a jewelry event hours earlier.
“She regrets it. She’s a mom, so she’s embarrassed about it,” lawyer Raymond Rafool told The News. “She’s just thankful it wasn’t worse and thankful nobody got hurt. The police were all very nice. It wasn’t a scene at all. It was anticlimactic.”
He said his client, whose legal name is Linda Bollea, had maybe two glasses of bubbly before driving home to her west coast residence in Simi Valley.
She was released on $5,000 bail shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday.
She was alone in her car at the time of the arrest, Rafool said.
Rafool said Hulk Hogan’s sex tape, reportedly on the market for months and leaked this week, did not play a role.
“We intentionally want it known we have no comment on the sex tape,” he said. “They have moved on to a nice, peaceful place in their relationship. They’re working hard to be peaceful co-parents. Even though their kids are adults, they still need their parents.”
Hulk Hogan, meanwhile, is vowing legal retribution after Gawker.com posted an edited version of the grainy black and white footage to its website Thursday. Still images from the tape previously circulated on the web.
The wrestling star, 59, claims the recording was made without his consent.
