So in order to celebrate their victory in style Team USA turned Camden's Roundhouse into a Las Vegas nightclub for the evening.
Olympic stars from track and field all filtered into the London venue ready to party at the lavish event that felt more like a homecoming parade for the Dream Team, than a pop up club.
The end of the games saw the biggest and brightest names in the NBA turn up to let their hair down amongst celebrities and 2000 other revelers.
With the Olympics closing ceremony ending with the Spice Girls reuniting one more time, the good vibes didn't stop and the after-party was in full swing at Club Bud Presents TAO / Marquee.
Superstars LeBron James and Kobe Bryant were two of the more popular attendants who were in good spirits throughout the night.
The USA basketball team made their arrival fashionably late and rolled into the club just before 2am along with sprinter Justin Gatlin.
Patriotic musicians Nas and Swizz Beatz took to the stage and had the whole club rocking as the New York rapper reeled off a few of his songs.
LeBron, 27, was seen with two bottles of champagne in his hands spraying the crowd of fans who didn't seem to mind getting wet.
After Nas finished his performance, music producer Swizz Beatz played tracks for the packed crowd, as the basketball players were given free gold colour Beats By Dre headphones.
British celebrities were also invited to join in the celebrations and Alexandra Burke, Wretch32 and Misha B were among those that turned up.
With their night completed Team USA finally called it a day at 3.30am and Swizz tweeted: 'We made history tonight wow!!!!'
