Alan Pardew has signed an eight-year deal at Newcastle

DEAL ME IN ... Alan Pardew has signed an eight-year deal at Newcastle

Alan Pardew has been handed an amazing EIGHT-YEAR deal by Newcastle worth £25million.
Toon boss Pards and three of his backroom team have agreed new contracts to keep them at St James’ Park until 2020.
It is a massive vote of confidence from owner Mike Ashley — who wants Pardew to become the Tyneside version of Alex Ferguson.
Managing director Derek Llambias said: “If you look at Manchester United and Arsenal, Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger have shown that stability gives you the best platform to achieve success.
“That’s the model we wish to emulate here.
“Alan’s done a fantastic job and has proved what a great manager he is.
“These contracts are aimed at keeping the club progressing.”
The deal means Pardew — who joined the club in 2010 after Toon had been through SEVEN managers in FIVE years — will be due a hefty payout if he is sacked before the end of it.
But, on the plus side, it also means Ashley would be due a bumper amount of compensation if Pards was head-hunted.
Pardew’s basic £30,000-a-week wages will remain roughly the same with bonuses for guiding the club into Europe each season and winning trophies.
His assistant John Carver and coaches Steve Stone and Andy Woodman have also been awarded long-term deals.
