Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Name Baby North West: Reports

Oh no they didn't! Kim and Kanye are said to have called their first child together North West, according to reports and now Twitter is flooded with comical reaction from fans

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed their first child five days ago, but the baby girl's name was still a mystery until now. The couple has named their newborn North, making the baby's full name North West, according to multiple reports.
They plan to call the baby girl Nori for short, according to E! News, citing a source close to the couple.
Gossip site TMZ was the first to break the news, citing North's birth certificate.
Kardashian has stayed out of the public eye since the birth of her daughter. "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" executive producer and radio host Ryan Seacrest said earlier this week he emailed Kardashian moments after she gave birth to congratulate the 32-year-old, to which she responded, "Can't believe it! It's so crazy!"
Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner appeared on the red carpet during the Daytime Emmys Sunday night, telling reporters her newest granddaughter is "doing great."
"We're all fine. We're all good and extremely happy and thrilled for the new baby," Jenner said.
Kardashian was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood, Calif., Saturday after she went into labor.
The reality-TV star initially revealed the sex of her bundle of joy on her E! reality show.
"I'm so excited we're having a girl. Who doesn't want a girl?" Kardashian said. "They are the best and I know that's really what Kanye has always wanted. He wanted a little girl."

Michael Jackson May Have Been The Only Person In The World To Go For 60 Days Without Proper Sleep, Claims Expert

Michael Jackson may have been the only human to go two months without proper sleep, it has emerged.
A leading sleep expert has said he has never before heard of any person who has gone 60 days with Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep.
The revelations emerged during testimony by Dr. Charles Czeisler, a Harvard Medical School sleep expert, at the wrongful death trial of concert promoter AEG LIve.
Michael Jackson's mother Katherine is suing AEG Live, claiming it failed to properly investigate her son's personal doctor Conrad Murray and missed warning signs about his failing health.
Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011 after giving Jackson a lethal dose of the anesthetic propofol.
As reported by CNN, the jury was told by Dr Czeisler that the 60 nights of propofol infusions which Dr Murray said he gave Jackson to treat insomnia has never before been undertaken.
Dr Czeisler told the jury that the drug does not offer REM sleep and disrupts the normal sleep cycle.
But its leaves those who take it refreshed and feeling as though they have had a proper night's sleep.
The doctor told the jury that the lack of REM sleep could eventually have taken the singer's life had he not have died when did.
The jury was told that rats tested by scientists died after five weeks of no REM sleep.
People who are deprived of REM sleep for long periods become depressed, paranoid and filled with anxiety. These are symptoms which Jackson was said to be suffering from in his final weeks.
'It would be like eating some sort of cellulose pellets instead of dinner,' he said. 'Your stomach would be full and you would not be hungry, but it would be zero calories and not fulfill any of your nutrition needs.'
Lawyers acting for AEG Live have said it was Jackson who chose and hired Murray. They say executives could not have known about the dangerous propofol treatments
The trial continues.

Indonesia Will Not Apologise To Singapore For Haze: Foreign Minister

Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa has said the Indonesian government will not issue an apology to its Singaporean counterpart for the haze crisis but he insisted that the government would do everything it could to tackle the problem.
“The Singaporean government must be aware that we have done all we can to tackle this haze problem. Indonesia has been dealing with this for years and improvements have been made,” Mr Natalegawa said as quoted by kompass.com on Friday.
He said both governments had worked hand-in-hand to tackle the problem, sharing information regarding the latest situation on the ground.
For example, he said, Singapore’s environment minister had been sent here to discuss the best possible solutions with his Indonesian counterpart.
Currently visibility in the city-state is very limited and air pollution has breached ‘hazardous’ levels. Similar conditions are also being seen in Indonesian cities like Pekanbaru in Riau and Jambi. The haze is coming from fires in many locations in Sumatra and West Kalimantan.

Indonesia To Kill Fire With Artificial Rain

Indonesia will drop salts into clouds to induce rain in an attempt to douse forest fires that have choked parts of the country and neighbouring Singapore and Malaysia, an official said on Friday.
Two helicopters have been dispatched to Riau province on Sumatra island, where forest fires have raged for days, said Heru Widodo, the head of the government-run Weather Modification Technology Centre.
A C-130 Hercules cargo plane would follow on Saturday, he said.
"We will start cloud seeding tomorrow [Saturday], if the situation permits," he said.
Cloud seeding involves firing salt-based chemicals into clouds to force out rain.
A similar method was used to try to divert rain away from the capital Jakarta following flooding in February.

Relief As Fritzl 'Dungeon' Sealed Off

The cellar where Josef Fritzl kept his daughter captive for 24 years and fathered seven children with her is being sealed off with concrete, much to the relief of neighbours keen to forget one of Austria's most horrific crimes.
Fritzl, aged 78, was sentenced in 2009 to life imprisonment in a special unit for the criminally insane for incest, rape, coercion, false imprisonment, enslavement and for the negligent homicide of one of his infant sons.
"The dungeon will be filled with concrete and thus sealed at the family's request," estate liquidator Walter Anzboeck told Friday's edition of the Oesterreich newspaper.
The construction work began on Thursday and is expected to take a week, costing a total of €100 000.
The idea is then to sell the house in the town of Amstetten in the province of Lower Austria, Anzboeck told the paper.
Neighbours welcomed the news, though some said the house should be demolished.
"Hopefully it will quiet down again and Amstetten will no longer be known as the Fritzl town," Katharina Sitz, aged 34, told the Krone newspaper.
"There will always be crazy people who want to buy the house because of Fritzl. It should be torn down," said Oliver Michailov, aged 45.
Krone quoted an unnamed neighbour as saying: "They should cement Fritzl in there as well."
Fritzl imprisoned his daughter Elisabeth in the basement of the family home when she was 18 years old. His wife, Rosemarie, reported her missing but Fritzl ordered his daughter to write a letter saying she had run away.
Three of the seven children he fathered with Elisabeth lived with her until they were freed in 2008. Fritzl and his wife fostered the other three surviving children after Fritzl claimed Elisabeth had given birth to them and then abandoned them to join a religious sect.
The Fritzl case followed the uncovering in 2006 of the Natascha Kampusch saga. Kampusch was kidnapped at the age of 10 by Wolfgang Priklopil and held in a windowless cell under his house near Vienna for eight years before she escaped.

Jewish Man Shouting Allahu akbar Shot Dead At Jerusalem's Western Wall

A Jewish Israeli man was shot and killed by a security guard at the Western Wall early on Friday morning after shouting

A Jewish Israeli man was shot and killed by a security guard at the Western Wall early on Friday morning after shouting "Allahu akbar" (God is Great).
The 46-year-old Israeli, who was well known in Jerusalem's Old City and is reported to have worked at a local soup kitchen, was shot at least eight times. Despite the efforts of emergency medics who attempted to revive the man for more that 20 minutes, he died at the scene from his wounds.
The security guard, who witnesses said was is in his mid twenties, told Israeli police officers that the man had emerged from the bathroom area towards the rear of the Western Wall Plaza at around 7.40am, shouted "Allahu akbar" and appeared to remove an object from his pockets, which the guard considered suspicious. Believing the man to be a Palestinian attempting a terror attack, he opened fire.
The Western Wall was closed to the public for several hours on Friday morning to allow forensic teams to examine the scene.
"We are currently investigating what led the Israeli man to shout Allahu akbar and why the security guard opened fire," said Micky Rosenfeld, spokesperson for the Israeli police. "Nothing like this has happened at the Western Wall for years."
Regular worshippers at the holy site told Israeli media the man was homeless and had a history of erratic behaviour.
The Western Wall, formed of large limestone blocks, the remnants of a supporting wall of the Second Temple, is among the most significant religious sites in Judaism.
Perched directly above it on the Temple Mount is the Al Aqsa mosque, where Muslims believe the Prophet Mohammed ascended to heaven. This small, fiercely contested section of Jerusalem's Old City marks the symbolic heart of the Middle East conflict.
Tensions at the holy site, that draw thousands of Jewish and Muslim to pray within metres of each other every week, have spiked in regular intervals since Israeli captured the Western Wall from Jordan in the 1967 War.

NA WA O! See What Beckham Is Causing In China

To be a celebrity can be such a good force as well as a very destructive one. In this case, it didn't go down too well.
David Beckham is China's new football ambassador being paid a small fortune to lend his clean-cut image to the Chinese league, which is riddled with corruption and foul play. But instead of demonstrating the virtues of good conduct, David Beckham sparked a stampede in Shanghai that left seven people injured - and forced his visit to be cancelled. Fans stormed the gates of a university football stadium to catch a glimpse of the former England football star on his arrival. A protective wall of security guards and police officers was flattened as Beckham-mania gripped the crowd of 1,000 students and youngsters. One female police officer was carried away with blood streaming from a face wound while another male officer was pictured lying on the ground unconscious with a bloody head wound.
Feast your eyes.

Assasin: We Got N15m To Kill Bank Manager

The suspect, Obinna Onyekulujie

A suspected assassin has confessed to the police that he and his gang was paid to kill the Deputy General Manager of Ecobank in Enugu State, Ogbonne Ogeri Nnachi Ibiam.
Obinna Onyekulujie, the 43-year old suspect, also known as Obaino refused to disclose the name of the person who contracted his gang to kill Ibiam but confessed to the police that he was a member of the Enugu-based robbery gang.
According to police sources at the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, FSARS, in Lagos, southwest Nigeria, the suspect claimed he received N1.5 million out of the N15 million paid to his five-man gang to assassinate the bank manager.
Onyekulujie confessed that he along with others now at large robbed and killed Ibiam on 14 December, 2012. Ibiam was the Ecobank Deputy General Manager and Regional Head (Retail) on Liberty Estate Road, Enugu State, southeast Nigeria, when he was killed.
The suspect also admitted that he carried out the crime with members of his gang Ogechukwu Uzor, a.k.a. Don Whisky, now detained at the Enugu State Police Command SARS Office for other robbery incidents, as well as another suspect, Emmanuel Nwankwo, a.k.a. Nwonovo, Chidi and OG, now at large.
Weapons recovered from the house of the suspect include one cut-to-size double barrel gun, one English barretta pistol, four brownie pistols, 18 live cartridges and 13 rounds of AK- 47 ammunition.
Police said the suspect was arrested following a written petition from the wife of the late bank manager (name withheld) to the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar.
The wife of the victim was not satisfied with the investigation of the murder of her late husband by the Enugu State Police Command and that the murder be investigated by another police formation outside Enugu State for her to get justice.
Following the approval of the petition by the IGP, the Commissioner of Police, FSARS Lagos, CP Mohammed Gana, was directed to send his men to the Enugu State Police Command to bring the case file of the murder and the arrested suspects to Lagos.

Coyle rules out Davies reunion as he targets immediate return to Premier League

Dream team: Coyle and Whelan at the DW Stadium

Owen Coyle was unveiled as Wigan’s new manager today and immediately backed himself to be a worthy successor to Roberto Martinez.
While Martinez was handed the Everton job despite failing to save Wigan from relegation last season, Coyle spent eight months out of the game following Bolton’s exit from the top-flight and disappointing start in the Championship.
Although Coyle insisted that he has turned down ‘seven or eight opportunities’ to get back into management since October, it is clear that questions over the one blemish on his track record rankle.
He said: ‘Roberto is an outstanding manager and someone I hold in high esteem.
‘But we competed for four years together and I finished above him three times. Bolton played Wigan eight times and we only lost once.
‘I believe in my abilities. In terms of going to Cheltenham with horses, it’s course and distance and I’ve done it.
‘Over eight years I’ve had nothing but success. With regards to Bolton we lost out on the last day of the season. That’s not something that fazes me. I’ll be judged on what I do at Wigan, not the success I had at Falkirk, St Johnstone or Burnley. We played 61 games in the season I took Burnley up to the Premier League and used the fewest players in the Championship.
‘But whoever comes into a job they’re not judged on what they’ve done before but what they do moving forward.
'Wigan lost out this season and Roberto’s moved to Everton. It’s slightly different because Wigan had the fantastic achievement of winning the FA Cup, with Bolton there was a slight negativity.’
Coyle must rebuild Wigan’s squad following the departure of a number of key players. He knows that he faces a battle to keep hold of James McCarthy, Arouna Kone and Callum McManaman but challenged his new squad to take responsibility for last season’s relegation.

Premier plans: Coyle wants to lead Wigan back to the Premier League

'Players have got to look it and say I played my part in that, let me play my part in getting the club back up,' he added.
'In an ideal world we don’t want to lose any of them. A number are out of contract and have left. From the nucleus we have left, sometimes you think a number of players won’t play in my team but that’s not the case here.
'I don’t have to sell but we understand how football works and when you’ve got talented players there will always be interest.
'There are some players who are coveted by other clubs. The chairman has shown that he won’t stand in a player’s way but it’s something we’ll address.
'He’s said that the money will always be invested in the club and that’s what every manager wants to hear.'
The combination of a bigger fixture list in the Championship and Europa League football means that the FA Cup holders could play up to 60 games next season.
Coyle has been given the go-ahead to bring in up to 10 players by chairman Dave Whelan but insisted: ‘We won’t sacrifice quality for quantity and just bring in players for the sake of numbers.
‘One thing the chairman has done here is back is managers, and that’s something I’ve always envied.
‘But if you know the chairman he’s very forthright, and there’s no doubt he wants to be back among the elite clubs. That won’t come easily, it will come through hard work.’
Whelan admitted that it could take at least two or three years for Coyle to take Wigan back up, but he is ready to give the 46-year-old Scot time.
He said: ‘It took Alex Ferguson time to really stamp his authority at Man United and there was talk of him getting the sack. Things don’t happen overnight and it’s going to take Owen time to put his stamp on the club, but he’ s going to get my support.
‘You can tell Owen’s enthusiasm is bursting. I had some very good lads apply for the job – it’s a privilege and difficult to choose the right one. Hopefully I have.
‘Owen left me with one clear decision: he’s the man for this club.’

Footballer Darren Bent Weds Model Kirsty Maclaren

Happy couple: Darren Bent wed model Kirsty Maclaren at Ely Cathedral in Cambridge on Saturday

Darren Bent’s footballing woes were kicked to one side when he married Kirsty Maclaren in front for 200 close friends and family members over the weekend.
The Aston Villa striker made the trip back to his native Cambridge for his big day, with the ceremony carried out at the city’s picturesque Ely Cathedral on Saturday.
Bent showed off his premier-league status by wearing a smart three-piece suit with white shirt and matching bow-tie after turning up in a Mercedes Maybach, but was completely outshone by his stunning bride.
Model Kirsty exuded WAG couture in a sweeping white, off-the-shoulder bridal gown that showed off her feminine curves as she made a memorable appearance at the cathedral in a Rolls Royce Ghost.

What a gent! Darren held an umbrella over his new wife's head as they leave the venue after becoming man and wife

The newlyweds left the church together following the ceremony, with an exotic honeymoon likely to be on the cards before Bent comes back to the reality of finding a new club.
The 29-year-old has been capped 13 times by England, but missed out on a place at Euro 2012 after sustaining an injury while playing for Villa.
The model was previously engaged to Liam Ridgewell – a centre-half with Villa’s bitter rivals West Bromwich Albion – but dramatically ended their relationship eight days before their £170,000 wedding.
The former couple are parents to kids Luca and Eva Summer, who now live with their mother and Bent at a new home in Birmingham.
While Liam probably didn’t get an invite, another man who possibly missed Bent’s wedding is his cousin, shamed PC Richard Bent.

Since then, his career has been on the slide – with Villa boss Paul Lambert opting to leave him on the sidelines for the bulk of last season while the club struggled to maintain their place in the Premier League.
Newcastle United are said to be keen on snapping Bent up on the cheap, but his whopping £70,000 a week pay-packet could be an issue for Magpies chairman Mike Ashley.
Bent popped the question to Kirsty last year after they met through a mutual friend.
The Metropolitan Police Officer was suspended from the force last year on suspicion of stealing valuable items from dead victims of crime.

Dressed to impress: Kirsty's bridesmaids wore pale grey gowns

Various items were later discovered during a raid on his £35,000 London flat.
Sources later revealed that Bent was furious with his cousin for implicating him in the affair and admitted he was ready to assist the police in their investigations.
A friend told The Sun at the time: 'He is furious at being dragged into this mess. Richard said Darren had given him the valuables.'

UK Cops Probe Nigella Throat-Grab Pics

Shocking pictures: Sitting in their favourite Mayfair restaurant, Charles Saatchi repeatedly grabs his wife Nigella Lawson by the neck

British police are investigating newspaper photos that show art collector Charles Saatchi with his hands around the throat of his wife, celebrity chef Nigella Lawson.
The pictures drew widespread condemnation after they were published by the Sunday People tabloid.
The paper said the images were taken during an argument at a London restaurant on 9 June.
The London police force said Monday it had not received a criminal complaint about the incident, and "inquiries are in hand to establish the facts" in order to assess whether a formal investigation is warranted.
Lawson's spokesperson, Mark Hutchinson, declined to comment on the images. But Saatchi, Britain's best-known art collector, told London's Evening Standard newspaper that the pictures misrepresented a "playful tiff".
Saatchi, an Evening Standard columnist, said "the pictures are horrific but give a far more drastic and violent impression of what took place".

Mr Saatchi is almost certain to be questioned by detectives within weeks

"About a week ago, we were sitting outside a restaurant having an intense debate about the children, and I held Nigella's neck repeatedly while attempting to emphasise my point," he was quoted as saying. "There was no grip, it was a playful tiff."
The 70-year-old said the couple "had made up by the time we were home."
Saatchi said after the story broke on Sunday, he had advised Lawson to leave the couple's London home with their children "until the dust settled."
Lawson's spokesperson confirmed that she and her children had left the family home.
Saatchi and Lawson married in 2003 and live in London with Lawson's son and daughter from her marriage to journalist John Diamond, who died of cancer in 2001, and Saatchi's daughter from a previous marriage.
In Britain a complaint from the victim is not necessary to lay assault charges if there is enough evidence from witnesses.

After the pair had finished their meal, a sad-looking Nigella walked away from her husband with her eyes cast to the floor

Lawson, 53, gained fame with her 1998 best-seller How To Eat and is one of Britain's best-known cookbook writers, as well as the host of foodie TV shows including Nigella Bites and ABC's cooking program The Taste.
Saatchi, co-founder of the Saatchi & Saatchi ad agency, owns one of London's biggest private art galleries.
He was the main patron of the Young British Artists movement of the 1990s, which made household names of artists including Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin.

Nelson Mandela's Wife Graça Machel Thanks World For 'Love, Comfort And Hope'

Nelson Mandela's wife Graça Machel has issued a statement saying that messages of support the family has been sent from around the world have helped
Nelson Mandela's wife Graça Machel has issued a statement saying that messages of support the family has been sent from around the world have helped "lighten the burden of anxiety; bringing us love, comfort and hope".
Mrs Machel, the widowed Mozambican first lady who married Mr Mandela on his 80th birthday, said the family had been deluged with letters, text messages, phone calls, tweets, Facebook messages, emails, cards and flowers.
She added that "in particular, the voices of children in schools or singing outside our home" had brought the family great comfort.
"We have felt the closeness of the world and the deepest meaning of strength and peace," she said in a statement issued through the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory, the foundation he set up to safeguard his legacy and look after his archive.
She gave no update on the condition of her 94-year-old husband, who has spent nine days in hospital after being admitted for a reoccurring lung condition.
President Jacob Zuma on Sunday said Mr Mandela remained in a serious condition, but doctors have said that improvements he has made have been sustained over the last two days and that the former president "continues to engage with family".
Mrs Machel said she had been reminded of the difference her husband, who is often referred to by his clan name "Madiba", made to the lives of others since he had been in hospital.
"Madiba once said: 'What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made in the lives of others.'
"I have thought of his words on each occasion the world stood with him, making a difference to him, in his healing," she said.
"Our gratitude is difficult to express. But the love and peace we feel give yet more life to the simple "Thank you!"
Mrs Machel cancelled a planned appearance at a London hunger summit and flew home when her husband was admitted to Pretoria's Heart Hospital early last Saturday. Since then, she is thought to have maintained an almost constant presence at his bedside. He has also been visited several times by his former wife Winnie Madikizela-Mandela and some of his many grandchildren.
The hospital admission is his third so far this year and his fourth since January 2011 with lung infections.

Miss USA 2013: Miss Utah's Garbled Answer Becomes Online Hit

Miss Connecticut won the 2013 Miss USA award, but it was a garbled answer from Miss Utah that became an online sensation.

Miss Connecticut won the 2013 Miss USA award, but it was a garbled answer from Miss Utah that became an online sensation.
Miss Utah, Marissa Powell, was asked the following question by a panellist at the beauty pageant on Sunday night:
"A recent report shows that in 40 per cent of American families with children, women are the primary earners yet they continue to earn less than men. What does this say about society?"
Miss Powell nodded, paused and then responded: "I think we can relate this back to education, and how we are continuing to try to strive … to … figure out how to create jobs right now. That is the biggest problem right now.
"I think, especially the men are … um … seen as the leaders of this, and so we need to see how to … create education better. So that we can solve this problem. Thank you."

Her garbled response led viewers to compare her to Miss Teen America 2007 contestant Caitlin Upton, who became an internet sensation. When asked why she thought a fifth of Americans were unable to locate the United States on a world map, the Miss South Carolina beauty queen replied it was probably because they did not have one.
Erin Brady of South Glastonbury, Connecticut, won the pageant after strutting in a white sparkly gown and answering a question about the US Supreme Court's decision upholding widespread DNA tests.
Asked if she agreed with the decision to swab the cheeks of arrestees, Miss Brady said she did, since they had committed crimes.
Miss Brady, who started competing in beauty pageants two year ago, gets the crown and a New York apartment for one year. She is expected to spend her title reign on a nationwide speaking tour and raising breast and ovarian cancer awareness, the organisation's official cause.
As the stage emptied, Miss Brady spoke about her commitment to fighting drug and alcohol abuse, which have marked her family, and her excitement at the prospect of telling her bosses at Prudential Financial she wasn't coming in tomorrow. Or ever again.
"They're going to be very upset to learn that I'm not coming," she said.

Superfast Version Of Samsung Galaxy S4 Launches

Samsung Galaxy S IV

Technology giant Samsung plans to sell a variation of its flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone that will transmit data at nearly twice the normal speed, the head of its mobile business has said.
J.K. Shin, also co-chief executive of the world's biggest technology firm by revenue, said the phone would be sold in South Korea as early as this month.
Samsung was in talks with several overseas carriers to begin selling the phone, Shin told the Reuters news agency in an interview at Samsung's headquarters in Suwon, just south of Seoul. He declined to name them.
"We'll be the first with the commercial launch of the advanced 4G version of the smartphone," Shin said.
The new S4 will use LTE-Advanced 4G technology, an upgrade from conventional 4G called LTE, or long term evolution. LTE-Advanced offers data transmission at up to twice the normal 4G speed. The phones will be powered by Qualcomm chips.
A film download that takes three minutes with conventional 4G would take slightly more than one minute, Samsung said.
Samsung's shares have lost almost $20 billion since June 7 after analysts cut forecasts for Galaxy S4 sales by as much as 30 per cent on industry data that showed the high-end smartphone market was increasingly saturated.
The same problem is hitting sales of the Apple iPhone 5.
Shin showed little concern about sales prospects for the S4, which hit stores in late April. The mobile devices division is the company's biggest profit generator.
"S4 sales remain strong. It's selling far stronger than the (Galaxy) S III ... and the new LTE-Advanced (4G) phone will be another addition to our high-end segment offerings that ensure healthy profit margins," Shin said.
Shin added that the new S4 would be slightly more expensive than the current version.
The South Korean firm hopes the addition of hardware offerings such as faster data transmission, along with its widely anticipated move to introduce models with unbreakable or flexible displays, will help it protect margin growth.
"As operators seek to provide more data-centric mobile services, I think this will become mainstream 4G technology globally in the coming years," Shin said.
Shin also said sales of Samsung's tablet products in the US market jumped 3.3 times since it installed brand shops within Best Buy's stores in April, and is now considering expanding the format in Latin America and Britain.

How Superman: Man Of Steel Has Made $170Million Without Even Selling A Ticket

Selling out? Henry Cavill as Superman, complete with designer clothing and accessories brands, glasses, cars and phone

Investors will be rubbing their hands with glee. Before the new release of Superman has even sold a ticket, producers have recouped three-quarters of the film's cost.
And it's all thanks to product placement.
Love it or hate it, advertising through cinema has been around as long as Hollywood itself.
Apps: Superman's Nokia is even kitted out with all his own apps
While some films open themselves up for some clever product placement - think James Bond, his Aston Martin, Martinis and watches - others' artistic message might be compromised by it.
Some argue they opt for product placement because funding is more difficult to come by for film-makers.
This time, for the renowned character Superman, the film-makers decided to go big - kitting him out with all the latest branded technology and gadgets.
So, where does Clark Kent get his glasses? In this film - Warby Parker. And his mobile phone is Nokia's latest model.
In fact, when it launches this Friday in the UK, the new Superman, called Man of Steel, will officially scoop pole position for the most product placements ever used.
Vintage: Clark Kent apparently opts for Warby Parker's vintage-style specs
Almost 100 companies have inked deals with Warner Brothers for their brands to appear in the film.
From a marketing perspective, what company wouldn't clammer to be associated with the world's hardest, and nicest, man?
The deals have earned the film-makers $170million (£107m); it cost them $225 million to make it.
Quoted in the Independent, Ryan Newey, of the advertising agency Fold7, said: 'More and more companies are looking to the film industry to promote their brands, as films are a great source of integrated advertising. And they provide aspirational characters, which companies are keen to associate their products with.
He added: 'Brands are a part of our routine - we receive 5,000 messages every day. If a film were brand-less, it would not be real life.'
Few brands wouldn't want to be associated with a 'man of steel' or Superman, like Chrysler cars
Whether or not Zack Snyder's epic will beat previous Superman films at the box office, however, remains to be seen.
The highest earning Superman film to date is Superman Returns (2008), which took nearly $391 million. A close second was the original Superman (1978) which took over $300 million.
Superhero characters in general have a good reputation at the box office.
All of the existing Iron Man films have scooped top 100 positions for box office sales, while people can't get enough of Bat Man and Spider Man.
The top selling film at the box office worldwide, is also a fictional character film - Avatar - which took nearly $2.8 billion worldwide.

Rafa Sorry Over Mandela Tweet

French Open champion, Rafa Nadal has apologised for falsely tweeting the death of Nelson Mandela to his 4.5 million followers.
The Telegraph's website reports that the Spaniard tweeted:

"(sic)Today we have lost one of the most important and relevant people in our world. Rest in peace #NelsonMandela."

His comments were retweeted 2 380 times.

Nadal later deleted his tweet upon finding out the real story and later tweeted:

"(sic) I had incorrect information and for now #NelsonMandela has not left us, I hope that he is with us for much longer; his actions will be with us for ever."

The 94-year-old former state President was admitted to a Pretoria hospital in the early hours of Saturday morning, suffering from a recurring lung infection and is receiving intensive care.
Doctors say that he is in a serious but stable condition.
His family are at his bedside, with his ex-wife Winnie Madikizela-Mandela arriving at the hospital on Monday afternoon.
Even CNN's Piers Morgan posted false information of Mandela's death, tweeting that he had passed away in his sleep overnight.
